7-Weeks: Live In America 2003 – Lyrics

May 14, 2008

Sing-Along Song

In a land of freedom
God has sent His grace
We’re proud to live in such a place

With the right to sing
Song after song
This song’s for you to sing along!

(chorus)
Whoa-o-o-o Whoa ooo La,
La Whoa-o-o-o Whoa ooo La,

La Lift your voices higher
We want to hear you sing
Let’s lift our voices to the King of King’s

(chorus)

Makes Me Wanna Sing

We’re gonna rock and have a good time
Tonight’s the night, the night we move
Together we will stand to rock the land

We’re gonna rock for something new
We’re gonna rock for something true
Tonight’s the night so let’s lift up our hands

(chorus)
Jesus, King, King of Kings
Jesus, makes me wanna sing

He makes me want to jump around
He keeps my feet above the ground
Tonight the night it’s best to rock the land
We’re gonna rock for something new
We’re gonna rock for something true
Tonight’s the night so let’s lift up our hands

(chorus)

Calling On You

Inside of me there is a lonely place
Sometimes I just don’t know it’s there
But when I’m all alone
That’s when I have to face…

(bridge)
The part of me that needs someone
To be by my side that’s when I call on…

(chorus)
You, You make my life complete
You give me all I need
You help me through and through
I’m calling on you

I can’t explain just what
You do to me
My love grows stronger everyday
You give me love,
You give me company

(bridge 2)
And when I have to face the rain
You bring sunshine into my life

(chorus)
(solo)
(chorus)

Free

Free to turn away – say goodbye
Free to walk away – and deny
The gift waiting for you
Whispers a still small voice
It’s your choice – you’re..

(chorus)
Free – Free to do what you want to
Choose your own destiny
Free to do what you want to
Free to open up – and believe
Free to simply ask – and receive

There’s no better time than now
You’ve got the right to choose
You can’t lose – you’re…

(chorus)

More Than A Man

Long ago, there was a man who came
Came and died for you You,
You say you don’t want to know
But I’ve got to tell you the truth

(chorus)
God, I will follow you because you died for me
Gave to me your life to set me free
Anyone who asks shall receive
Jesus in your heart
It’s time for you to start
Giving God all the glory

More than a man,
God almighty
He created you
He’s the One, the One who rules the land
He is the One I choose

(chorus)
(bridge)
All of the glory today
No matter what some people say
All of your faith And your life will start to change

(chorus x2)

Caught In The Middle

You’ve been workin’ hard
Tryin’ to make your life appealing
You’ve got no regard
You don’t know what the hell you’re feeling

(bridge 1)
You’ve got everything, live like a king
But how will you live tomorrow?

(chorus)
You’re caught in the middle
And you don’t know where to go
Turn it around, come back to the ground
Before you break and lose control

Are you here at all
Or are you at the point of no return
You’ve got to make a call
You’ve got to make a choice before you get burned

(bridge 2)
You’ve got what it takes, make no mistakes
Don’t live your life in sorrow

(chorus)
(bridge 1)
(chorus)

Reach Out

I was looking for the answer all the time
Always looking, never finding
I was empty inside
Falling into darkness
Needing the light to see
Reaching out for shelter
Then He set me free

(chorus)
I reached out,
You reach out,
He’ll reach out today
I reached out,
You reach out,
He’ll reach out today

If you’re looking for the answer, now this is the time
To stop looking and start finding that feeling inside
You don’t need the darkness
When there’s a light to see
He’ll provide the shelter
And He’ll set you free

(chorus)
I’ll reach out, I’ll reach out
I’ll reach out, I’ll reach out today
Oh, reach out today
Oh, reach out today
Oh, reach out today
Oh, reach out today
I’ll reach out today

Loud N’ Clear

The hair is long and the screams are loud and clear.
The clothes are tight, earrings dangling from the ears.
No matter how we look, we’ll always praise His name.
And, if you believe, you’ve got to do the same.

(chorus)
Loud, clear, let the people hear.
Scream, shout, show what it’s all about.
Loud, clear, let the people hear.
Scream, shout, show what it’s all about.

Some of us were always pushed around in schools.
That’s why I wrote this song to sing to pushin’ fools.
At least we can say we love doin’ what we do.
And we’re here to say that you can have salvation too.

(chorus)

The Way
I want to sing some other way
Always the same, never a change
What can I do to make me feel right
Change all my ways, give up my life

(chorus)
Oh – What did you say?
Oh – Christ is the way
Rockin’ for the One who is the Rock

I feel His strength come into me
Reading His word helps me to see
I feel so new, I want to sing
Feeling His joy in everything

(chorus)
Oh – What can I say?
Oh – Christ is the way
Rockin’ for the One who is the Rock
Rockin’ for the One who is the Rock

Soldiers Under Command

We are the soldiers under God’s command
We hold His two-edged sword within our hands
We’re not ashamed to stand up for what’s right
We win without sin, it’s not by our might
And we’re fighting all the sin
And the good book — it says we’ll win!

(chorus)
Soldiers, Soldiers, under command
Soldiers, Soldiers, fighting the Lords battle plan

Are you a soldier under God’s command
Help fight the good fight, join us while you can
The battle that’s waiting is fought so easily
Through Him, without sin there is victory
And were fighting all the sin And the good book — it says we’ll win!

(chorus)

To Hell With The Devil

Speak of the devil
He’s no friend of mine
To turn from him is what we have in mind
Just a liar and a thief
The word tells us so
We like to let him know Where he can go

(chorus)
To hell with the devil
To hell with the devil

When things are going wrong
You know who to blame
He will always live Up to his name
He’s never been the answer
There’s a better way
We are here to rock you
And to say…

(chorus)

Honestly

Honestly, I believe in you
Do you trust in me
Patiently, I will stand by you
I will stand beside you faithfully

(bridge)
And through the years
I will be a friend
For always and forever

(chorus)
Call on me and I’ll be there for you
I’m a friend who always will be true
And I love you can’t you see
That I can say I love you honestly

(Solo)
(chorus 2)
Call on me and I’ll be there for you
I’m a friend who always will be true
And I love you can’t you see
That I love you honestly
I will never betray your trust in me
And I love you can’t you see
That I can say I love you honestly

Winter Wonderland

Sleigh bells ring
Are you listening
In the lane
Snow is glistening
A beautiful sight
We’re happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland

Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song
As we go along
Walking in a winter wonderland

In the meadow we can build a snowman
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He’ll say: Are you married?
We’ll say: No man
But you can do the job when you’re in town

Later on we’ll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid
The plans that we’ve made
Walking in a winter wonderland.

2006/2007 | Greatest Hits Live in Puerto Rico| DVD

May 13, 2008

Greatest Hits Live Greatest Hits Live
This was the first DVD ever officially released.

This version was only availible from their website (www.stryper.com) and the first 500 pre-orders came with a free “Live In Puerto Rico” concert t-shirt! I received a XLarge!

This is a rare import DVD “Greatest Hits Live In Puerto Rico” released in 2007. As far as I know this is only available overseas or as an import.

Also there are questions whether this is a legal release or not. From what I can tell it is a very high quality product. The artwork it a bit dated and some pictures are just live shots from the video but, the packaging is top notch and the disc is an original silver pressed disc. It also has the Fifty Thee Five Records logo.

Additional info: (01/01/2008)

Also there are questions whether this is a legal release or not. Yes it is! The company is a legitimate company overseas that actually secured the rights to release the DVD overseas, legally. Very professional packaging.

2001 | Stryper Expo 2001 | VHSx2

May 13, 2008

Stryper Expo 2001 Unlike the video for the first expo, these videos come in basic cardboard covers: the covers were sacrificed this year in order to put out two videos instead of one. Video number one starts out with a Stryper collector showing some of his collectibles he brought in a suitcase. Robert and Tim are shown being interviewed, I wish they would have showed more! The concert footage was good with a wide variety of angles and tight shots. The sound quality has a tin can quality to it, but more on that later.

This video features one song each from Sin Dizzy, Irene Kelly, Michael Sweet, and Disciple. My only beef with these songs is that it doesn’t come across that they’re playing to an audience. There are no crowd shots, and you can’t even hear the crowd. The crowd was going nuts when Disciple covered More Than A Man, but you don’t get any of that from watching this. You even see a Stryper in-store preformance without Michael the day before the expo, as Mike was delayed. Interview footage and scenes from throughout the event are shown, and even some cool Costa Rica footage thrown in to boot! The best thing about the Costa Rica footage is that you get to see just how wild the crowd was. They were going nuts! It’s not professionally shot, but it doesn’t matter. It has “the vibe” and it gives you a taste of what it was like to be there. Unfortunately, this videotape is only a half-hour long.

I popped the second video in, and re-lived the Stryper show all over again. I was very impressed with the production. It gives you over and above a front row seat, you’re on the stage! To compare this video to the first expo video is apples and oranges, but it is visually incredible.

Audio wise, I was let down. It’s lacking a lot of bass, so much so that’s it’s almost nonexistent. To most viewers, this will not be a big deal but an audio nut will pick it up right away.

This video is a must have!

2000 | Stryper Expo 2000 | VHS

May 13, 2008

Stryper Expo 2000

The concert was shot from 3 separate camcorders: one on the side of the stage, one in front of the stage, and one by the sound board. Although this video cannot compete with the quality of Live In Japan, the excitement of the crowd and the chemistry of the band come across strong on tape. Before viewing this tape, fans must understand that this was an informal jam, not a full blown concert. The stage was small, the lights were minimal, and the Stryper members are dressed very casually. With that said, the songs were tight and the performance was top notch.

Naturally, the jam is the most talked about part of the video. But there is so much more! Each band member was interviewed specifically for this release, and their comments were placed throughout the footage. The day before the expo, the band made an in-store appearance which included 2 acoustic songs by Mike and Oz. Not only is this footage included on the video, but you’ll view behind the scenes footage of Stryper being interviewed on the Tour Bus radio show. Brief bonus footage of Stryper rehearsing the night before the expo and the December concert in Costa Rica will leave you wanting more!

The Stryper Expo 2000 video had a limited pressing of 2,000. It has been out of print nearly since it was released.
