This is the infamous reprint of the “Loud ‘n Clear” book & DVD.It’s release was delayed by the band needing to approve the additional chapter and corrections. They also didn’t like the idea of a low budget DVD. So I don’t know if they ever worked it out because the book had the Stryper “logo” removed and it was changed from an “authorized biography” to “unauthorized biography”. The DVD was only available to the first pre-orders. It is a camcorder documentary by the authors. It contains some of the interviews that went into the book, Footage from the Stryper expo exhibit, etc… Tim Gaines takes you around a music store (I think he word there) and then takes them (the authors) around to the Stryper house and garage that it all started & much more. Defiantly a nice rare collectible! |

This is the rare first edition Stryper book “Loud ‘n Clear” by Dale Erickson and Jesse Sturdevant. The first version was printed in 2001 and released to the public at the Stryper Expo 2 in California.
Quick background on the book: Dale and Jesse took nearly 2 years to research and write this book. They spent over a month solid with the members going through their history in meticulous detail, asking thousands of questions. They spent even more hours on the phone trying to get the facts straight, since the facts came from 4 different views. At the Stryper Expo 2 in May of 2001, they quickly sold out as hundreds of people clamored to the table to snatch a copy and have it signed by the authers and the band. There are very rare and many never seen before photos in the book. The book consists of about 13 chapters, covering their earliest beginnings in great detail, their childhood, formation of the band, in depth info on each album and tour, their rise to stardom and yes, their controversial “Against the Law” period. We not only interviewed the band, but their family members, former employees, record company executives, and many others. |

Yes it exist! Pete King of Quest comics came out with a comic book titled Soldier Of God featuring Robert Sweet. The main character in the story, Creed, finds himself back to back with the visual timekeeper himself in a battle against evil.
There were 4000 Soldier of God comics printed, they were available at the Stryper expo 2000. I don’t know how many were sold or survived. |

Here is a letter I received from Stryper / Janice Sweet. It is post marked 04/26/94. I remember writing to find out what merchandise was available and if there was any new Stryper news.
Page 1 is a letter with an update on her (Janice Sweet) life and it introducing the “Solid Rock Review” fanzine that she was starting. Page 2 is an order form for the fanzine as well as info and pricing on Classified, Business ads. Page 3 is an official Stryper merchandise order form. I even filled it out with the things I wanted back then but never mailed it. I can’t believe I saved this letter. Very cool item indeed. |

This is a mega rare 8″ / 10″ glossy promo picture for the To Hell With The Devil album. What makes this promo picture so rare is that it features Matt Hurch.Bassist Tim Gaines did not participate in the recording of this album, and for a period of time prior to the release of the record he was replaced by another bass player, Matt Hurich. Hurich wasn’t with the band more than a month however during that time he was outfitted with a Yellow & Black striped bass and a Racing Costume which was later handed down to Tim Gaines who didn’t wear it often because it was too small. Brad Cobb played bass on the album. However, when the promotional photos for the album were being shot, Gaines decided to return to the band and participated in its successful world tour. Prior to his time in Stryper, Matt was in the band Leatherwolf. In 1989 he performed with the group Divine Right who featured Kevin Brandow (Petra) on lead vocals and guitar. |

This is one of my rarest finds. The mega rare album by Phil Sweet “Memphis Blue Streak”. Phil & Janice Sweet are none other then Robert & Michael’s parents. This compilation of songs was produced by both Phil and Janice Sweet, ranging from 1958 up until 1980. The title track to this LP, “Memphis Blue Streak”, was released in August of 1979. This is the song that features a young Robert Sweet (19) on the drums and an even younger Michael (16), on guitar.I had the opportunity to have this autographed by Robert & Michael in person before the concert in Fort Worth at the Ridglea Theater on 11/12/05. |

This is a very rare high school yearbook which features 3/4 of Stryper.
Robert Sweet (Senior), Michael Sweet (Freshman) & Richard Martinez aka Oz Fox (Junior) It also features Robert & Michael’s sister as well…
The binding on the yearbook is not that great. There are some loose pages and it is defiantly well used by some teenager in the 70’s. It has tons of autographs and what not from dozens of teens like any yearbook would.
